Drill Team & Majorette Squad Guidelines
Drill Teams
A Drill Team consists of a unit with four (4) or more like members. The types of equipment employed by the team, the style of the team, and the format of the show is completely optional in the drill team division. The following examples are various types of Drill Teams:
- Rifle Drill Team
- Pom Pon Drill Team
- Flag Drill Team
- Dance Drill Team
- Swing Flag Drill Team
Majorette Squads
A Majorette Squad consists of a unit of at least four (4) members utilizing batons and/or other twirling equipment.
**Swing Flag Squads will perform in the drill team division and not as Majorette Squads.
The minimum time limit is three (3) minutes and the maximum is six (6) minutes.

Classification
Drill Teams and Majorette Squads will be classified by category with two divisions:
Junior High/Middle School and High School

Entrance and Exit
A unit may enter the contest floor over any line and may start its program anywhere within the competition area or contest floor. Exit may be over any line.
All competing members must be on the contest floor within thirty (30) seconds after the start of execution judging.
All personnel and equipment must be out of the contest area at the conclusion of six (6) minutes. (Interpretation: If other than competing personnel are removing props or excess equipment, they may begin to do so as the unit is leaving the contest floor and competition area).
Clinics are not provided for Drill Team or Majorette Squad performances.
